We were looking up old and dear friends on facebook when we discovered your devastating loss. Brittany is probably wondering who this Virginia Klein person is who requested her as a friend on facebook. We have such fond memories of our times together while stationed in Florida. We think of you often and cherish those memories. Our deepest sympathies to all of you.

I considered myself a precocious fan of the Beatles as a senior in high school....I knew all the obscure recordings...I had the vinyl albums..etc..but somehow I missed one song...

I heard "In My Life" for the first time at your funeral, and it was the first time that I truly lost control emotionally. When my great grandfather died...I somehow knew it was coming. When our family friend died of cancer...I knew for certain it was coming. When you died........how could I have possibly known.

It gives me an eerie satisfaction that I can't hear that song without feeling sad.

I don't remember to think of you every day...perhaps I didn't know you well enough...perhaps I'm not as good a person as I could be.

When I do remember you though....it jolts me off my feet. It is a palpable, abrupt, and violent disruption of whatever life I am leading, and I savor it with every moment.

If there is anything you are great at, I know it is awakening a person from the placid dream that is their placid life. Show them what is more important, show them what is entertaining....or maybe just show them something you find funny.

In any case....it works.

Thank you Chelsea.
